Wan Hai Signs Contracts with CSBC-Kaohsiung for the Vessel Construction
WanHai signed a contract with the China Shipbuilding Corporation-Kaohsiung branch for the vessel construction in Taipei headquarter on July 15. The principal particulars of these three vessels signed are as follows: She has a maximum loading capacity of 6,019 teus; speed of vessel, 26 knots; maximum scantling draft, 14 meters, delivery on October, 2007 on schedule. Of all WanHai's fleet, The kind of vessel will be the top maximum capacity and the fastest speed of vessel.

Previously, Wanhai ordered eight 4,250 teu vessels from CSBC and four 2,600 teu vessels from Singapore Jurong shipbuilding Co; adding three vessels in contract, 15 vessels will be delivered, and Wanhai's own fleet will amount to 55 vessels, with total spaces reach one hundred twenty thousand teus, up to 2008.

Dominating in Intra-Asia line for a long time, turnover and profits of Wanhai keep swift growth; besides, since stepping into ocean-going shipping line five years ago, WanHai had exploited West America Service I &Ⅱ and FarEast/Europe Service continually through independent or joint services. Contracting two more vessels substantially enhances self competition in global carrier as well as lowers the cost.
